Orchid Tree Wellness Retreat

Our Story

Orchidtree began during COVID, when an abandoned piece of land turned into a vision for sustainable living. We had drilled four borewells without finding water and left the property idle. When the world slowed down, I decided to create a prototype for urban sustainability — what started as my farmhouse, 500 Shades of Green, has now grown into Orchidtree Wellness Retreat.

About Me

I’m Pradip Kuppa Swamy, a landscape architect behind landmark campuses like Infosys Mysore, Biocon, and Britannia, and a recipient of the World Architecture Award. Beyond architecture, I’m a photographer, biker, golfer, and yogi. I take pride in leading by example for my son Kapil, whose love for animals once made Orchidtree his “pet sanctuary.” Hospitality is not our profession but part of who we are — in India we say Atithi Devo Bhava (the guest is God).

Training the Next Generation

The young team here is more than staff. Unlike much of today’s hospitality industry, where skills stagnate, our kids undergo continuous training in healthy cooking, inspired by what we grow and by recipes passed down from grandmothers or discovered in our travels. Backed by the discipline of working with MNCs and audits, we ensure consistency through resourcefulness: everything from greens to grains is grown on our farms across India and brought here to your table.

The Heart of Orchidtree

Behind the smooth running of this retreat is Meena and her family. Coming from remote Nepal, where internet and electricity are still rare, they embody the true meaning of organic and sustainable living. Their dedication, simplicity, and resilience are the backbone of Orchidtree.
